On March 13, 2025 Steelworkers had the opportunity to review the Tentative Collective Agreement presented by their Bargaining Team. Members then voted on whether to accept or reject the collective agreement between USW Local 2010 and Queen’s University.
By majority, 65% of Steelworkers voted to accept the offer. Over 1000 Steelworkers voted (1011 out of 1222 eligible members; 83% participation), with 655 members voting to accept the tentative agreement. There were 345 members who voted to reject the tentative agreement, with 42 spoiled ballots.
Thank you to our Bargaining Team, Strike Committee, Picket Captains, Communications Team, and everyone who offered and volunteered their time, energy, and support. And thank you to each and every Steelworker who attended numerous meetings, asked questions, spoke out, and shared their opinions.
Together, Local 2010 faced challenges head-on, and together, we will keep pushing forward for the fair treatment and respect we deserve. Membership commitment and solidarity carried us through the bargaining process, and we look forward to continued involvement with the Union to keep the momentum going on the foundations we have built.
